Delhi: Australian team's legendary fast bowler Mitchell Starc expressed his opinion that since the impact player rule is not there in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, every captain will have to carefully select his playing eleven in this tournament. Apart from this, he said that the experience of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will not be useful in the ICC tournament.

For your information, let us tell you that the Impact Player rule has been implemented in IPL since last year. In such a situation, the teams are getting full benefit from it and many times runs have been scored beyond 200 and 250.
34-year-old Mitchell Starc said, “Due to this rule, more runs are scored and the batting and bowling of each team is deeper. The pitches and grounds are also such that more runs are being scored. “This approach allows the batting or bowling all-rounder to bat at number eight or nine.”
Starc also said that this rule is fatal for bowlers. In the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Friday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) score was 57 runs for 5 wickets. Venkatesh Iyer was batting from one side. Manish Pandey was sent as an influential player to support him and he saved the innings by making an 83-run partnership with Venkatesh. Without the Impact Player rule, Kolkata would never have been able to reach 169 runs.
Players are performing well in this IPL as impact players. Partnerships are also getting bigger. “On one hand, there are some individual big innings, but keeping in mind the upcoming World Cup, the same run flow will not continue in the IPL, so captains will have to strategize smartly,” Starc said.
Starc's opinion on becoming the most expensive player in IPL history
It is known that Kolkata Knight Riders paid an amount of Rs 24.75 crore to buy Starc. He is the most expensive selling player in the history of IPL. Although, he was not in bowling form, but finally in the match against Mumbai, he achieved great rhythm and took 4 wickets. “There was no pressure on us for the highest price,” Stark said. He also said that I have not fixed this amount, so why should I take pressure.”
The left-arm pacer said, “This is good preparation for the T20 World Cup to be held in June. I am not playing in IPL keeping this tournament in mind. My goal is to help the Kolkata team win. Every captain will have to think a lot while choosing the final 11 wisely. This IPL experience will not be useful in the World Cup.”
