Virat Kohli has reclaimed Orange Cap after scoring 42 runs against Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2024. Ruturaj Gaikwad dethroned him, but the veteran took it back after the latest game. Faf du Plessis (64) and Kohli added 92 runs in 5.5 overs while chasing 148 in Bengaluru.
The chase became tense after RCB lost 6 quick wickets, but Dinesh Karthik held one end together to lead the team to a four-wicket win.
Former India player Virender Sehwag hailed Kohli for his impressive form. He urged the star batter to maintain the same tempo in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“Virat Kohli was phenomenal against Gujarat Titans. He has been consistent this season for RCB. I hope he continues with his form even in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. No matter if he fails to score any run after the World Cup but India need him in form in the West Indies and the USA,” Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, Kohli faced 27 balls and hit 4 sixes and 2 sixes, and his runs came at a strike rate of 155.55.
In 11 games, he has amassed 542 runs at an average of 67.75 and a strike rate of 148.08. Overall, he has slammed 48 fours and 24 sixes.
