Sarthak Ranjan: IPL 2026 Mini Auction was organized today in Abu Dhabi, where big bids were made on many players while there were many players who did not find any buyer. Sarthak Ranjan, son of Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia, Bihar, also participated in the mini auction of IPL 2026, where he has finally found a buyer.
29 year old Sarthak Ranjan plays for Delhi instead of Bihar in domestic cricket. Recently, he attracted everyone’s attention by scoring a century in just 58 balls in Delhi Premier League 2025.
In the mini auction of IPL 2026, Shahrukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders bid on Pappu Yadav’s son Sarthak Ranjan and included him in their team. However, no other team bid on Sarthak Ranjan, that is why KKR included him in their team for just 30 lakhs at his base price.
Sarthak Ranjan has also played with the current Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir. Apart from right-handed off-spin, Sarthak Ranjan is an expert in hitting long sixes. In 2017, he opened with Gautam Gambhir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2017 for Delhi under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant.
Talking about the recent performance of Sarthak Ranjan, while batting for North Delhi in the Delhi Premier League, he has scored 449 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 146.73, during which he has also hit 44 fours and 21 sixes. During this period, apart from 1 century, Sarthak Ranjan also scored 4 half-centuries, during this his century came in just 58 balls. Sarthak Ranjan was second in the list of batsmen scoring the most runs in this tournament.
Despite this brilliant performance of Sarthak Ranjan, he did not find any other buyer other than KKR. KKR has bought him for only Rs 30 lakhs, now if he gets a chance in the playing 11 and he is successful in repeating his brilliant performance, then his luck can change.
