India leg spinner Rahul Chahar was picked up by Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 5.2 crore at the IPL 2026 auction on Tuesday.
The Rajasthan-born bowler featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 and comes into the auction after a steady Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26 campaign, where he took six wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 8.70.
The 26-year-old brings significant IPL experience, having previously turned out for Rising Pune Supergiants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Across 79 IPL matches, Chahar has picked up 75 wickets at an economy of 7.72.
At the international level, he has represented India in six T20Is and one ODI, taking a combined 10 wickets.
