Former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth reckons that Venkatesh Iyer or Rachin Ravindra will be an ideal fit for Rajasthan Royals for the No. 3 spot. Before arriving at the two names RR should go after, Srikkanth complimented the manner in which Vaibhav Suryavanshi has grown in stature following his maiden century in his first IPL season.
"Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been extraordinary since scoring that hundred against GT [in IPL 2025]. He should actually be in the 15 for the T20 World Cup; he's playing at that level. Venkatesh Iyer or Rachin Ravindra might be good fits for them at No. 3," shared Srikkanth in a video on his YouTube channel.
He also noted that RR might look to sign Ravi Bishnoi even though he would want them to go after Rahul Chahar. He also named Michael Bracewell as an ideal fit for the team as he could slot in as the backup to Ravindra Jadeja.
"Between Ravi Bishnoi and Rahul Chahar, I'll go for Chahar. He's a brilliant leg-spinner. I won't go for Bishnoi, but maybe RR will go for him. Michael Bracewell will be an ideal fit for them, too. He'll be a good secondary spinner to Jadeja and fit in perfectly at No. 8," he added.
RR have a remaining purse of INR 16.05 crore. They have a maximum of nine slots to fill, including one overseas. The Royals brought three players with trades, roping in Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran (from Chennai Super Kings) and Donovan Ferreira (from Delhi Capitals).
The retained players of their squad from the 2025 season comprise Suryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Jofra Archer, Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Nandre Burger, Kwena Maphaka, Sandeep Sharma, Shimron Hetmyer, Shubham Dubey, Tushar Deshpande and Yudhvir Singh Charak.
