Delhi: The third match of the 5-match T20 series between India and South Africa is being played today at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has created history in T20 international cricket by performing brilliantly in the match.
Hardik completed 100 T20I wickets
Hardik crossed the mark of 100 T20I wickets in this match. He has become the third Indian bowler after Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh to achieve this feat.
Pandya started the match with 99 wickets and achieved the milestone of 100 wickets by dismissing Tristan Stubbs. He got this record a little late as the Baroda player did not take any wicket in the second T20I played in Mullanpur, where India lost to the Proteas.
Hardik, who returned to Team India after two months of quadriceps injury, made a spectacular comeback in the first T20I in Cuttack. He scored 59 runs in 28 balls and helped India reach 175/6 and dismissed David Miller for 1 run on the very first ball he bowled.
Record made in world cricket also
With this feat, the star all-rounder has now become the first seam-bowler to complete the double of 1000-plus runs and 100-plus wickets in T20Is. Earlier this record was in the names of only three spin all-rounders: Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi and Sikandar Raza.
