Chennai Super Kings is going to enter the IPL 2026 mini auction with a huge purse of Rs 43.40 crore. The team has nine slots vacant and can buy a maximum of four foreign players. Meanwhile, former Indian opener and captain Kris Srikkanth has given a special suggestion to CSK that New Zealand’s spin-bowling all-rounder Michael Bracewell should be included in the team.

According to Srikkanth, Bracewell is a player who can compensate for the lack of Jadeja to a great extent for CSK. While talking on his YouTube channel, he said that people underestimate Bracewell, even though he had also scored a brilliant century against India in Hyderabad. He said, “Bracewell bowls good off-spin, is left-handed and can bat quickly. He is also an excellent finisher.”

Apart from this, Srikanth said that CSK’s top-4 batting is already stronger, which includes players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Ayush Matre and Urvil Patel. In such a situation, the team needs an all-rounder who can contribute in both the departments.

Advice on buying both Livingstone and Bracewell

Srikkanth believes that CSK should also bid on England all-rounder Liam Livingstone. He estimates that both the players can be found within Rs 10 crores. He said that both of them can fulfill the shortcomings of Jadeja to a great extent.

Talking about Michael Bracewell, this player has played 203 T20 matches so far, in which he has scored 3455 runs and has also taken 96 wickets. At the same time, he has also taken 6 wickets after playing five matches for RCB in IPL 2023.

In which direction CSK will go in the IPL 2026 mini auction, it will be known on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, but in the eyes of Srikkanth, Bracewell is the biggest need of the team.
