Jalaj Saxena (39 years)
Indian all-rounder Jalaj Saxena is the oldest player to participate in the IPL 2026 auction. He is one of the great players of Indian domestic cricket and has scored more than 7000 runs in first class cricket and taken close to 500 wickets. 39-year-old Saxena has been a part of the IPL since 2014 and was a part of the dressing room of Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Saxena has played the only match in IPL for Punjab Kings. In that match, he gave 27 runs in 3 overs and did not bat. His base price in the IPL 2026 auction is Rs 40 lakh.
Umesh Yadav (38 years)
Indian bowler Umesh Yadav has been one of the best fast bowlers in IPL history. 38 year old Umesh has played 148 matches in IPL and has been a part of many teams. He played for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 and took 8 wickets in seven matches. He was bought by some team in the IPL 2025 auction. Recently, he has been selected by Vidarbha for the domestic T-20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Umesh’s base price in the IPL 2026 auction is Rs 1.5 crore.
Richard Gleason (38 years old)
England fast bowler Richard Gleeson, who made headlines by dismissing legends like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant in the first eight balls of his T20 International career. He is among the oldest players in the IPL 2026 auction.
38-year-old Gleeson made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2024, while in 2025 he was a part of Mumbai Indians. Till now he has played a total of three matches in IPL, in which he has taken two wickets in his name.
Karan Sharma (38 years)
Leg spinner Karn Sharma made his IPL debut in 2014 and so far has taken 83 wickets in 90 matches in this tournament. Karn is known as a bowler who reduces the pace of runs of the opposition team at important moments. In his 11-year IPL career, he was a part of the teams of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has been a part of the IPL champion team four times. Karna took seven wickets in six matches in IPL 2025.
Dwayne Pretorius — 37
South African all-rounder Dwayne Pretorius will enter the IPL 2026 auction at the age of 37 and will be among the oldest players. Pretorius made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2022. During his two seasons in the IPL, he played a total of seven matches, taking six wickets. Pretorius’ base price in the IPL 2026 auction is Rs 1 crore.
