The ICC has banned West Indies cricket's ace wicket-keeper batsman Devon Thomas for 5 years. Thomas has admitted his mistake and has violated 7 anti-corruption codes of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The ICC had suspended Devon Thomas from playing cricket in May 2023 on 7 serious allegations including match fixing. But now they have been completely banned. The Caribbean player was given 14 days to explain himself, but he could not prove himself innocent.

“Devon Thomas, who has played international, domestic cricket and franchise cricket, had participated in many anti-corruption sessions. He knew what his responsibilities were under the anti-corruption codes, but he failed to fulfill his obligations. Therefore, this ban is absolutely right and it sends a strong message to other players involved in corruption. Those who commit this act will be dealt with strictly.”
