The 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises will look to plug gaps in their squads at the IPL 2026 auction, scheduled for December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

A total of 359 players have been shortlisted for the auction. The franchises initially selected 350 players, with nine additional names added subsequently.

These 359 players have been divided into 42 sets based on their primary discipline batters, bowlers, all-rounders and wicketkeepers and on whether they are capped or uncapped. Each set has been assigned a number, with the auction proceeding sequentially according to these set numbers.

Set 1 features capped batters and includes high-profile names such as Cameron Green, David Miller and Prithvi Shaw. The first set of uncapped players appears in Set 6, which comprises uncapped batters including Atharva Taide, Abhinav Manohar and Yash Dhull.

Unlike a mega auction, there is no separate marquee set. Even the biggest names have been slotted into their respective discipline-based sets, in line with the standard auction structure.
