Shubman Gill, one of the star batsmen of Indian cricket, is not having a bad phase in the T20 International format. Gill was also out cheaply in the first match of the 5-match T20 series against South Africa. Shubman Gill, who returned after recovering from injury, could face only 2 balls in this match and became the victim of Lungi Ngidi. Due to which he could not end his wait for a big innings in T20 International once again.
Shubhman Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring only 4 runs on 2 balls in this match.
This became another series of his continuous failures. In the match, Gill made a strong start by hitting a brilliant four on his very first ball, but in his haste to play a big shot on the very next ball, he was caught. The figures further make Gill's problem clear. His last half-century in T20 International came 16 innings ago, that too against Zimbabwe in July 2024. Since then he has been playing short innings continuously.Earlier, even in the five-match T20 series against Australia, he could not touch the 50 mark even once.
Shubman Gill has crossed the 30-run mark only 5 times in the last 16 innings. At the same time, in India, he has been out in single digit score for the fourth time in 8 T20 matches.Let us tell you, Shubman Gill is getting opportunities in place of Sanju Samson in the team. Earlier, Sanju Samson was handling the responsibility of opening for the team. Sanju Samson also scored 3 T20 centuries for Team India as an opener. Despite this, his batting order was changed and he was shown the way out of the playing 11. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal is also continuously struggling to make a place in the T20 team.
However, his T20 figures are quite impressive.
