Lucknow: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced Team India for the ICC T-20 World Cup 2024 on April 30. Now regarding this, on May 2, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma held a press conference. During this, he answered the question why four spinners were selected in the team. Let us tell you that there are only 3 fast bowlers in the Indian squad, about which questions were being raised continuously and now Rohit has made it clear why 4 spinners have been selected in the team.

Actually, the reason given by Rohit for selecting 4 spin bowlers in the team is also quite funny. The main reason for selecting so many spinners in the team is that perhaps there will be slow pitches in West Indies and the spinners can get help there, but while talking in the press conference, the Indian captain has answered in a different way.

He said, “I wanted 4 spinners in the team and I will not tell the reason here. I will give you information about it in USA because now captains of other countries will also hear it and that is why I am giving you such an answer. I don't want to tell the reason for this right now but I will definitely tell you. There are two frontline spinners in our team, which include Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. Apart from this, there are two more spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel, who can also bat as well as bowl.

Rohit further said that “Looking at the composition of the team, any player can get a chance in the playing eleven. We will look at the circumstances and then decide who to give place to. It is possible that Kuldeep and Chahal can play together or can also play separately. Apart from this, both may not be part of the final eleven. “We will take the same decision as per the situation.”

These four spinners are included in the Indian team

This Indian team includes Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja as 4 spinners. Chahal was out of Team India but on the basis of his excellent performance in IPL 2024, he has made his place in the World Cup squad. On the other hand, Kuldeep is continuously proving to be the most important link for India in all three formats.
