Spain vs Croatia T20I: In the format of cricket i.e. T20 cricket, 200 plus runs is considered the winning total. In that one team lost the match by 215 runs. Now just imagine how many runs the target would have been given by the opposing team? And, this result is not of any league match but of T20 International match. We are talking about the T20 International match played between Spain and Croatia. There was a match between the two teams on 7 December, in which Spain defeated Croatia by 215 runs. Now how did this happen, let us know.
Batting first in the match, Spain scored a mountain of runs. It scored 290 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs, which is the 5th highest score made by any team in T20 International. Opener Mohammad Ihsan played a big role in helping the Spain team reach such a big score, who single-handedly defeated Croatia's 11 players.
Mohammad Ihsan, while batting against Croatia at a strike rate of 253.96, not only hit 17 sixes but also hit 5 fours. On the basis of these 22 boundaries, he scored 160 runs in just 63 balls. Now when a single batsman scores so many runs, the team's score board will definitely be on fire. Spain's scoreboard against Croatia was also similar.
Now when Croatia team came out to chase the target, it was very difficult for them to reach the target given by Spain, it was difficult for them to even surpass the score of Mohammad Ihsan who hit 17 sixes. Simply put, the number of runs scored by the Croatian team in 20 overs was only 85 runs less than the 160 runs scored by Mohammad Ihsan.
While chasing the target of 291 runs, Croatia team scored only 75 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. The result was that they lost the match by 215 runs, which is Croatia's biggest defeat in terms of runs. This is the 5th biggest defeat by any team in terms of runs in T20 International.
