In the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets. This was Punjab’s 5th consecutive win against Chennai, becoming the second team to do so. On the other hand, this was Chennai’s third defeat in the last 4 matches this season.
CSK’s MS Dhoni was run out on the last ball of the 20th over, with this he was out for the first time in the season. On the other hand, Punjab team reached victory with the help of overthrown run.

1. Bairstow gave life to Moeen Ali
Jonny Bairstow gave life to Moeen Ali in the 18th over. Arshdeep Singh bowled the first ball of the over at full length. Moeen played a big shot towards long off, Bairstow tried to catch it but the ball went out of his hand and the sixer went outside the boundary.
At the time of Jeevandan, Moeen was batting on the score of only 5 runs. He scored 15 runs in 9 balls. He was bowled by Rahul Chahar in the 19th over.

2. Dhoni was run out on the last ball
CSK’s MS Dhoni was run out on the last ball of the 20th over, with this he was out for the first time in the season. 4. Sam Curran survived in DRS
Punjab captain Sam Curran was indecisive due to DRS. Richard Glees bowled the third ball of the 18th over of fuller length, the ball hit Curran straight on his pad. CSK appealed for LBW and the umpire gave the decision of out.
Upon review, replays showed that the ball had pitched outside the leg stump, so it remained unbeaten. Karan remained not out after scoring 26 runs.

5. Punjab won by overthrow
Punjab Kings won by overthrow on the fifth ball of the 18th over. Richard Glees bowled a short pitch ball to Shashank, Shashank played a shot towards square leg. Here the fielder threw it towards the stump but wicketkeeper Dhoni could not catch the ball. The ball went towards deep point and Punjab completed the required 2 runs to win.
