NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma added another glittering milestone to his storied career during the third ODI against South Africa in Vishakhapatnam, becoming only the fourth Indian batter to cross 20,000 runs in international cricket.
The former Indian captain, long admired for his clean striking and effortless dominance at the top, reached the landmark with typical calm, joining a rare club very few in the game’s history have managed to enter.
Rohit now stands beside Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid, the only other Indian batsmen to amass 20,000 international runs. It reflects his longevity, adaptability across formats and the remarkable consistency he has shown in all conditions.
Most international runs by Indian batsmen
–Sachin Tendulkar – 34,357 runs
–Virat Kohli – 27,910 runs*
–Rahul Dravid- 24,208 runs
–Rohit Sharma- 20,000 runs*
Across formats, Rohit has built a record that reflects both volume and impact. He has scored 4,301 runs in Test cricket, more than 11,470 runs in ODIs, and another 4,231 runs in T20Is, placing him firmly among the most complete white-ball openers the sport has seen.
