South Africa pulled off a brilliant chase in Raipur, beating India by four wickets with four balls to level the series 1-1. Chasing a huge 359, Aiden Markram’s 110 kept the Proteas strongly in the hunt despite losing a few wickets.
India had earlier posted 358/5 on the back of centuries from Virat Kohli (102) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (105), with KL Rahul adding an unbeaten 66. But dew made conditions progressively tougher for Indian bowlers as South Africa capitalised.
The chase began poorly with Quinton de Kock falling early to Arshdeep Singh, but Markram and Temba Bavuma stabilised the innings with a 101-run stand.
Once Markram crossed fifty, he accelerated his innings, capitalizing on the dropped opportunity from Jaiswal that turned into six.Matthew Breetzke (68) and Dewald Brevis (54 off 34) delivered once again, attacking opposition pacers in the middle overs. Even after a late wobble, Breetzke falling lbw, Marco Jansen departing, and Tony de Zorzi retiring hurt, Corbin Bosch’s unbeaten 29 ensured South Africa crossed the line. The victory keeps South Africa alive in the series and sets up a thrilling decider.
Top batting performances of the match — Virat KohliAlthough in a losing cause, Kohli's century was important in pushing India to a strong total. He kept on batting at a high rate and was well-supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who himself brought up his maiden ODI ton. This recorded Kohli's 53 ODI century, seeing him shatter numerous records.
Left-arm pacer Marco Jansen was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa, finishing with figures of 2/63 in his quota of 10 overs. While the Raipur pitch was a batting paradise, the tall seamer made sure to use the short ball as his weapon.

The third and final ODI of the series will be played at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 06. The three-match tie is currently leveled at 1-1, making the upcoming contest a series decider.
