Kohli-Gaikwad’s century gave India a big target

The beginning of Team India’s innings was fast, but due to the fall of some wickets in the middle, the run pace slowed down a bit. After this, Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad took the responsibility and strengthened the Indian innings.

Rohit Sharma was out early, while Yashasvi Jaiswal made a good start, but he could not convert it into a big score and was out for 22 runs. After this Gaikwad showed wonders with his bat. He was out after scoring 105 runs. Initially he batted cautiously and later scored runs at a high pace.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli once again showed his class. He played a brilliant inning of 102 runs. The 195-run partnership between Kohli and Gaikwad was the most important link of India’s innings. Due to his wisdom, India’s score kept going up.

In the end, captain KL Rahul played a quick inning of 66 runs and took the team to a strong score. Jadeja also contributed by adding 24 runs. However, India could not make a big push in the last overs and the team feels that 10-15 more runs could have been achieved.

Marco Johnson took two wickets among South African bowlers. Nagidi also kept a good line by taking one wicket. But, it was difficult for them to stop the momentum of the Indian batsmen.

Overall, India has taken a strong hold in the match by scoring 358 runs in 50 overs. Now the bowlers will need a good start. India’s target is big and now it remains to be seen how South Africa handles this challenge.
