Delhi: Former South African wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers praised India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) great batsman Virat Kohli and said that he is one of the best players to have played cricket so far.

At present, Kohli is the second highest run scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He has scored 500 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 147.49. The right-handed batsman has hit 46 fours and 20 sixes in the current season.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, de Villiers said that he is fed up of people criticizing Kohli's strike rate. The former Proteas captain said that Virat has been 'unbelievable' in the IPL.

40-year-old de Villiers said, “Virat Kohli is facing criticism regarding his strike rate. This has been going on for a very long time and I am fed up with it now. I am disappointed to say this. He is incredible in the IPL, he plays a definite role for RCB and I have a lot of data-based pundits who keep criticizing this player when you don't really have knowledge of the game.
