Delhi: It is reported that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided that in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be played next year, all the matches of the Indian team will be held in the same stadium, i.e. Lahore. Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy next year.

Eight teams are going to participate in this upcoming major tournament of ICC, which is a 50 over Mahakumbh. At the same time, the schedule of Champions Trophy has not been decided yet, but it is expected to start in mid-February next year. The Pakistan Board has planned to organize the two-week long tournament in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi stadiums.

However, should the Indian cricket team be sent to Pakistan? A decision on this is yet to be taken. In view of the tension between the two countries, the Pakistan board, after much deliberation, has decided to shift India's matches to Lahore. The reason behind this is that Lahore is a city situated on the border. Here the fans can cross the Wagah border to watch their team's match without any problem, but the thing to be noted here is that the final decision on whether to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy or not is taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). ) is instead in the hands of the Government of India.

Also, the organizers want to ensure that the Indian team does not need to travel frequently or change venues to play ICC Champions Trophy matches. At the same time, PCB had recently said that it has sent the Champions Trophy plan to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “We have finalized the Champions Trophy schedule in collaboration with the ICC and ICC officials have examined Pakistan's arrangements. It is hoped that this time the tournament will be organized successfully.”

Indian team should be sent to Pakistan – PCB's demand

Pakistan also participated in the ICC ODI World Cup 2024 hosted by India. He said that since we had sent our team to India, this time BCCI should also send its team to Pakistan. It is noteworthy that this is the first time that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy.
