Key Points:
After India’s victory in the Ranchi ODI and Kohli’s century, a video of him and coach Gambhir has gone viral in which Kohli is seen ignoring them. BCCI is worried about the decreasing communication between senior players and management and is preparing to hold a meeting soon.
Delhi: The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa was played in Ranchi. In this match, Team India defeated Proteas by 17 runs. With this India took a 1-0 lead in the series. Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century in Ranchi, which was the 52nd ODI century of his career. Rohit Sharma also batted well and gave a strong start to the team.
Did Virat ignore Gambhir?
Meanwhile, a video of head coach Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli is going viral on social media. It is seen in the video that after the match, Kohli was busy on his phone while going towards the dressing room. While climbing the stairs, Gambhir is seen standing in front, but Kohli moves ahead. It is also possible that he may not have noticed Gambhir because he was looking at his phone. This video is being shared rapidly on social media.
After this, when the players were celebrating the victory by cutting the cake in the team hotel, Virat passed by, but did not participate in that celebration. He waved his hand and refused to come and proceeded towards his room.
According to some reports, BCCI is concerned about the less communication between the team management and senior players. For this reason the board is preparing to call a meeting. It is believed that this meeting can be held before the second ODI in Raipur.
Dainik Jagran’s report has claimed that the relationship between head coach Gautam Gambhir and senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is not normal. Apart from this, the board is also not happy with the criticism facing Gambhir on social media.
