South Africa all-rounder Nadine de Klerk was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs. 65 lakh at the WPL Auction on Thursday in New Delhi after a standout tournament that underlined her value as a high-impact finisher and a reliable seam option.
Previously with RCB in 2024 and MI in 2025, she saw Gujarat Giants start the bidding at Rs. 30 lakh. RCB surged ahead to Rs. 65 lakh. DC briefly delayed proceedings with a late bid, but RCB shut the door and secured her at Rs.
65 lakh.De Klerk finished the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 campaign with 208 runs at a strike rate of 131.64, along with nine wickets at an economy rate of 5.30, emerging as one of the most consistent dual contributors in the competition.
She produced two defining rescue acts in Visakhapatnam within the space of five days. Her unbeaten 84 off 54 against India powered one of the tournament’s most dramatic escapes, while the 37 not out off 29 versus Bangladesh helped South Africa avoid a major upset.
De Klerk also ended the edition as the second-fastest scorer of the tournament and the second-highest six-hitter, while maintaining her reliability with the ball by picking up at least one wicket in every outing she bowled.
