All-rounder Sneh Rana was promoted to the rank of ‘Officer on Special Duty’ by the Ministry of Railways after she won the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup with Team India earlier this year.
Sneh, previously a ‘Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk’ with Northern Railways, announced the news on social media on Monday.
“Heartfelt thanks to Ministry of Railways for recognising the efforts and promoting me for the post of ‘Officer on Special Duty’ (Sports). Railways is the best organisation to be employed in, as a sports person.
It motivates us to be at our best always. Gratitude!,” she wrote in her post.Sneh played six games during India’s World Cup-winning campaign. She picked seven wickets at an average of 45, and made handy contributions lower down the order with 99 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 113.
The 31-year-old was signed by Delhi Capitals in the recently concluded Women’s Premier League mega auction for the 2026 season.
