Indian players celebrated their win over South Africa in the first ODI in Ranchi. The players were jubilant as they arrived at the team’s hotel after the conclusion of the contest. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were magnificent with the bat as KL Rahul’s side took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. In a video that went viral on social media, Rahul can be seen cutting the cake, but Kohli didn’t join the celebrations despite being requested by fans and hotel staff.

The clip also showed India head coach Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma engaged in an intense conversation before the camera panned towards Rahul.

Kohli continued to walk despite being urged to join his teammates.

Rift between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma?

Earlier, Gambhir and Rohit were involved in a chat in the dressing room after India’s 17-run victory. As per reports, things are not fine between the coach and the two senior players. The relationship between Gambhir and the two legends has taken a hit.

“Gambhir’s relationship with Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir is not good, and there could be a meeting to decide the future of the two senior players. This could be held in Raipur or Visakhapatnam, venues of the second and third matches,” a BCCI source told Dainik Jagran.

The BCCI has summoned Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, as the top brass wants to address the issue regarding the communication in the team. There is no information on the participation of Kohli and Rohit.

Meanwhile, Virat amassed 135 runs in the series opener as the hosts posted 349/8. The Proteas came close but were restricted to 332. Kohli was named the Player of the Match for his 52nd ODI hundred.
