South African cricket team’s legendary batsman Faf du Plessis created a stir by sharing a post on his social media account on Saturday, November 29. Actually, through this post he has announced that he wants to play in the upcoming season of PSL, due to which he will not send his name in the IPL auction.
Yes, that is what has happened. Actually, Faf has shared an emotional post in which he thanked all the franchise teams, coaches, fellow players, sports staff and fans for his 14-year long IPL career. Here he opened his heart and also told that he wants to face new challenges in the year 2026, that is why he is going to play PSL. For this reason he will not be able to play IPL.
However, Faf has also made it clear that he is not taking retirement from IPL and may be a part of this tournament again in the future. Let us tell you that this 41-year-old player was a part of the Delhi Capitals team last season, who did not retain him at the base price of just Rs 2 crore before the upcoming auction.
If we talk about Faf’s 14-year long IPL career, he was a part of teams like Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals in the world’s toughest league, during which he scored 4773 runs in a total of 154 matches at an average of 35.10 and a strike rate of 135.79.
The special thing is that this experienced batsman has the experience of playing in T20 leagues around the world and he has 11906 runs in his name in 424 matches with 8 centuries and 83 half-centuries in the fast format. This is the reason why Indian cricket fans would like to see this legendary player playing on the IPL stage once again soon. However, whether this happens or not, only time will tell.
