Janvi Jindal.
Chandigarh's Janvi Jindal (18) has achieved another big achievement by winning six new Guinness World Records in freestyle skating. With this, she has become the first woman from India to hold the maximum number of Guinness World Records, a total of 11. Apart from the five records already held, the six new records that Janvi recently got include most 360-degree spins on inline skates in 30 seconds, most 360-degree spins in one minute, and most one-wheel 360-degree spins on inline skates in 30 seconds.
Earlier in July 2025, Janvi had won five Guinness titles in various categories of freestyle skating. With these achievements, Janvi has become India's second highest Guinness World Record holder, ahead of only the great player Sachin Tendulkar, who has 19 records in his name.
Janvi, along with her father Munish Jindal, met Rajya Sabha MP and Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu, who heartily congratulated her on her achievements and encouraged her to pursue her sporting aspirations in the future. Recognizing his extraordinary talent and international achievements, MP Satnam Sandhu also gave him a cash award of Rs 11,000. Also offered admission in Chandigarh University under sports scholarship.
Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu said that registering 11 Guinness World Records in the name of 18-year-old Janvi is an extraordinary achievement. He has made the country proud with his dedication, discipline and extraordinary talent. Chandigarh University has always encouraged sports and young players.
From winning the prestigious MAKA Trophy to producing many national and international medal winners in various sports, our achievements are a testament to our commitment. We are happy to support Janvi in her journey and are confident that she will reach greater heights in the future.
Janvi, a Class 12 student in a government school in Chandigarh, has learned freestyle skating herself with the help of her father and the internet. When Janvi, who has won 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in the National Skating Championships and is preparing for the upcoming national competition, was asked about her future plans, she expressed her determination to push her limits.
Janvi said, I will continue to strive to create more world records and inspire young players to achieve their dreams, no matter what resources or support they have. I want to use social media to inspire others and share experiences. For international skating competitions, professional coaching and support is essential and I am confident that I can win more medals for my country.
Excited by Janvi's achievement, her father Munish Jindal, who is originally from Rampura Phul area of Bathinda, Punjab, said, "It is a proud moment not only for me but for the entire country that at a young age, Janvi has earned international fame by becoming the first girl to make 11 Guinness World Records."
Inspired by the Bollywood film Dangal, I wanted my daughter to make a name for herself in sports. At the age of just 8, Janvi did the courageous act of jumping into the river three times from a height of 30 feet. Janvi presented a wonderful example of her self-confidence and bravery by fearlessly accepting challenges. A year later, she started learning freestyle skating and never looked back. She not only learned freestyle skating on her own without any professional training, but also became the first woman from India to hold the maximum number of 11 Guinness World Records across all categories.
He said, Janvi has the highest number of records made by any Indian youth below the age of 18 years. His total of 21 records include 11 Guinness World Records, 8 India Book of Records, and one record each in Asia and Worldwide Book of Records. Earlier this record was in the name of 14-year-old mathematics genius Aryan Shukla from Maharashtra, who held 6 Guinness World Records under the age of 18.
He told that Janvi's journey is even more inspiring because without any formal coaching, no special facilities and limited resources, she developed herself into a world-class freestyle skater by using only online content as her personal coaching academy. He is a symbol of the new generation of modern India, for whom knowledge is limitless and passion is its greatest strength.
In July this year, Janvi got five Guinness Records confirmed, including 27 spins in 30 seconds, two-wheel slalom (20 cones) in 8.85 seconds, 42 one-wheel spins in 30 seconds, 72 one-wheel spins in one minute and 22 consecutive one-wheel spins.
