Ajman Titans captain Moeen Ali is full of confidence ahead of tonight's Eliminator against UAE Bulls at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10.
Reflecting on the Titans' journey through the tournament, Moeen emphasised the quality of cricket his side has produced.
"It's been really good; we've played some really good cricket. Even in our last game against the Bulls, we played really well. Obviously, I think UAE Bulls are on paper the best side, and they have been on the receiving end of that. But we've played amazing cricket throughout.
It's been a really good tournament so far, we've enjoyed it."
The England all-rounder has been in sensational form throughout the tournament, amassing 197 runs at a blistering strike rate of 262.66, the third highest across the season. As the fourth highest run scorer, Moeen has also joint-led the six-hitting charts with 17 maximums, tied with David Wiese for the most in the competition.
Tonight's Eliminator represents a chance for redemption after the Titans fell to the Bulls by three wickets in their final group stage fixture on Friday night, despite Moeen's explosive unbeaten 29 off just 11 balls.
That Bulls victory sealed their playoff spot. The winner of the Eliminator will have to secure one more victory to seal their place in the final. The veteran campaigner also shared his philosophy on momentum in tournament cricket, suggesting that the occasional setback can be beneficial.
"I always think it's good to lose in a tournament at the right time. You don't want to win all the games. I mean, if you win all the games and win the trophy, it's different."
Reflecting on his time playing cricket’s fastest format in Abu Dhabi, he opined,
"The wickets are really good. I think all the years I've played T10, this year has been the best wickets. Obviously, the facilities are amazing as they always are in the UAE and especially Abu Dhabi. It's an amazing tournament, always has been. And it's only getting better; all the top players in the world come and play. And it's great to be part of it."
When asked about potential opponents should the Titans progress, Moeen Ali said,
“When it comes to the finals, we'll take anybody on.
A final is a final."
