Along with this, security arrangements have also been increased. The city’s hotel industry is facing such a huge demand for the first time in the last several months. The season combined with the match has doubled the demand for rooms.

The situation is such that small hotels, lodges, marriage halls and even night shelters of the city are full. There are waiting lists at many places and some hotels are only taking advance payment for rooms. Railway Station Road remains the most favorite area for thousands of cricket lovers coming to Ranchi. According to hotel operators, staying in this area makes it easy to reach the stadium.

Apart from this, almost 100 percent booking has been done in hotels located at Birsa Chowk, Hinu, Doranda, Hawaii Nagar and Harmu Bypass Road. Hoteliers said that during the match week the demand increases almost three times as compared to normal days. This time also the situation is the same. For visitors coming from outside, the cheap rooms available for Rs 1,500–2,000 are now missing from the market.

Under compulsion they have to turn to business class rooms or premium category. Some people are also looking for shared rooms, home-stays and guest houses, but there are limited options left there too. Hotel operators say that it is almost impossible to get a vacant room in Ranchi for the next two days.
