Delhi: A big surprise was seen in the mega auction of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 when Australia captain Alyssa Healy was left without any buyer. Healy was part of the marquee set and it was expected that teams would make big bids for him, but all five franchises did not buy him. This decision is even more shocking because she was among the top 5 run scorers in the recently held Women’s World Cup 2025.

Healy’s name was first called in the auction, but no team extended its hand. Later his name came up in the second round of auction also but no one bought him. At the same time, players like Grace Harris and Saika Ishaq were included in the teams.

Starc had appealed to Delhi Capitals

After Healy remained unsold, the Instagram comment of her husband and Delhi Capitals player Mitchell Starc went viral. Starc had already expressed hope that Delhi Capitals would buy Healy so that both could become part of the same franchise. But, the result was reverse and Healy did not get any team.
