Key Points:

Australia is still firmly at the first position in the ICC’s updated Test rankings released on the evening of 26 November.

Delhi: After capturing the two-match Test series against India, South Africa has not only maintained its consecutive winning streak but has also taken a big leap in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test team rankings. The team seems to be performing brilliantly under the captaincy of Temba Bavuma.

Australia’s dominance continues in the rankings

Australia is still firmly at the first position in the ICC’s updated Test rankings released on the evening of 26 November. Australia’s rating is currently 124, and the interesting thing is that there does not seem to be any other team to challenge it at this time.

South Africa reached number 2

After winning two consecutive Tests against India, the South African team has moved up one place in the rankings.

In the new ranking, South Africa has reached second place with 116 ratings. There is continuous improvement in the performance of the team.

loss to England

In this update, the England team has lost one place. England’s rating is 112 and it has slipped to third place.

Team India remains at fourth position

The Indian team is still at number four in the ranking. India’s rating is currently 104, which is a worrying sign for the team.

The special thing is that India will not play any Test match for the next eight months, hence there is no possibility of improvement in its ranking at the moment. If the lower ranked teams perform well, the threat to India may increase.

Next test against Sri Lanka in August

Team India will now play a two-Test series on Sri Lanka tour in August, which will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship. Till then the Test specialist players will get rest, although the ODI and T20 series will continue.
