Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) young batsman Urvil Patel made such a blast in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that everyone was surprised. Playing for Gujarat, he scored a century in just 31 balls and led the team to a spectacular victory by 8 wickets. CSK had bought him for Rs 30 lakh in the mega auction last year and now he looks all set for IPL 2026.

Urvil Patel scored a record century

Urvil Patel scored unbeaten 119 runs in just 37 balls against Services. His stormy innings included 12 fours and 10 sixes. His strike rate was more than 321. The special thing is that even in the year 2024, Urvil had scored a century in 28 balls and he has now scored India’s second fastest T20 century. Earlier this record was in the name of Rishabh Pant, who scored a century in 32 balls.

Urvil’s father Mukesh Patel also expressed happiness over his son’s innings and said that now he should get a chance in Team India. Urvil and Arya Desai together added 174 runs for the first wicket. Arya also scored 60 runs in 35 balls and gave great support to his partner. Both of them played aggressively from the beginning and achieved the target in just 12.3 overs.

Gujarat’s next match will be against Bengal on Friday and the team’s confidence has increased a lot after consecutive wins.
