Afghanistan Squad T20 World Cup 2024: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) T-20 World Cup for 2024 Rashid Khan Afghanistan's 15-member team led by (Rashid Khan) has been announced. 8 players from this team are currently playing in IPL.

There are only four batsmen in the team – Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Ishaq (backup wicketkeeper). But with the presence of 6 all-rounders the team looks strong. Apart from captain Rashid, other all-rounders are Azmatullah Umarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Karim Janat and Nangeyalia Kharote.

Apart from Rashid and Kharotay, the two other options in spin are Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmed. Apart from this, there are Naveen Ul Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Farid Ahmed in fast bowling.

Hashmatullah Shahidi, who will captain Afghanistan in the 2023 ODI World Cup, has not got a place in the team. Explosive batsman Hazratullah Zazai has been kept among the reserve players, apart from him there are Sediqullah Atal and Mohammad Salim.

Afghanistan is part of Group C in the T20 World Cup, which also includes New Zealand and hosts West Indies. Apart from this, Uganda and Papua New Guinea are also in the group. Afghanistan will play its first match against Uganda on June 3.
