Key Points:

On the fourth day of the second test, Ravichandran Ashwin looked unhappy with the weak body language of Team India. He said that India will have to make a strong comeback in the second innings. The spinners are getting help on the pitch and Pant also missed an easy stumping opportunity. South Africa has set a huge target for India.

Delhi: India’s legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was not happy with the reaction and body language of Team India. He said this on the fourth day of the ongoing India vs South Africa second Test at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Ashwin shared a picture of the broadcast in which stand-in captain Rishabh Pant was seen. He expressed hope that India will bat well in the second innings.

Ashwin expressed disappointment

Ashwin wrote on X that he wants the team to come back strongly, but also talked about the body language of the players on the field.

He wrote, “I have full hope that we will be able to make a comeback while batting in the second innings, but the signals we are getting from the body language on the field are disappointing.”

Three wickets fell in the first session

In the first session, India had to work hard to break the opening partnership. Ravindra Jadeja gave India the first wicket by dismissing Ryan Rickelton. Rickelton scored 35 runs on 64 balls and both the openers made a partnership of 59 runs. After this, Jadeja also bowled Markram with a brilliant ball. Markram scored 29 runs. Washington Sundar took the third wicket. Temba Bavuma first got an easy catch, but later he was caught by Nitish Reddy and was out. After the session, South Africa’s lead was 398 runs.

Difficult to bat on this pitch

Ashwin hopes that India will play well in the run chase, but the condition of the pitch indicates something else. The spinners are getting a lot of help. As the ball turns, it also gets bounce. Even an aggressive batsman like Tristan Stubbs was kept confined by the spinners. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant also missed a stumping opportunity to dismiss Stubbs.
