There is no hidden fact that the BCCI and the IPL match referees are making mistakes in every match. Harshit Rana has been fined 100 percent of his match fees and awarded a one-match ban for violation of the IPL code of conduct. However, the board hasn’t revealed what was his crime.
There was an incident when Harshit dismissed Abhishek Porel of Delhi Capitals and gestured towards the batter to go back to the dugout. The KKR pacer wanted to blow a flying kiss as well but stopped mid-way as he had already been fined 60 percent of his match fee for a similar gesture in front of SRH batter Mayank Agarwal.
Former India player Aakash Chopra was surprised with the punishment as Rana was not seen doing anything offensive during the game between KKR and DC to merit such a harsh penalty. He urged the decision-makers to clarify what Rana exactly did.
Aakash was tagged in a post by one of the X users. However, the veteran cricketer refused to accept the logic. Another X user wrote about Rana disrespecting the rivals.
Chopra was not done yet and mentioned a player who would get banned after every game for the way he treated the players of other franchises. Aakash didn’t name anyone, but it was clear that he was talking about Virat Kohli, who is abusing rivals in every game.

He doesn’t even spare the Indian players, and his aggression always crosses the line. However, he was fined just once this season for his rant against the umpires.
The cricket board and referees have been soft with the star players, and that allows them to do what they want in the matches. Had Virat and Rana been judged on the same parameters, Virat would have sat out of half of the matches in IPL 2024.
