Travis Head became Australia’s biggest hero in that match. By scoring a brilliant century, he stopped Team India’s winning streak throughout the tournament. On the second anniversary of Australia’s historic victory, Head shared a funny social media post, which is no less than ‘salt on the wound’ for Indian cricket fans.

Travis Head misses World Cup 2023 final

On 19 November 2025, Head posted an old picture on his Instagram to commemorate the final match in which the Australian team is lifting the trophy. He simply wrote “Happy Birthday” along with the picture and remembered it in a special way.

Australia defeated India in the 2023 World Cup final in front of approximately one lakh spectators. At the beginning of Australia’s innings, the team was struggling at 47-3, but Head played a big inning of 137 runs in 120 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 4 sixes. He made an important partnership of 192 runs with Marnus Labuschagne.

Earlier, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood had taken two wickets each in bowling. Mitchell Starc bowled an excellent spell and took 3-55 and restricted India to 240 runs in 50 overs, while Rohit Sharma played fast in the beginning.
