The venues for the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) are likely to be finalised when the tournament’s Governing Council meets in New Delhi on November 26.

While Navi Mumbai is likely to host a chunk of games, along with the opener and the final, the Governing Council is undecided about the second venue.

According to sources, options are being explored for the second venue, with Vadodara emerging as a front-runner. Rajkot and a couple of other venues are also being looked at.

Like the previous seasons, the tournament is expected to be played in a caravan model, with the tournament likely to begin in Navi Mumbai before moving to the second venue.

With the tournament scheduled to be held between January 7 and February 3, the Board wants to allot games only to those venues which won’t host any matches in the men’s T20 World Cup.

Vadodara is scheduled to host an ODI between India and New Zealand on January 11, so if it does get awarded WPL matches, it is likely to host the second leg.

“We are in the process of identifying and finalising the venues. A few grounds have been shortlisted, but a decision will be taken keeping the logistical issues in mind,” a source said.

The WPL auction will be held in the National Capital on November 27.
