South Africa coach expressed concern over Delhi’s pollution before IND vs SA series

Former South African cricketer and current coach Jonty Rhodes has expressed concern about the air of Delhi. On his X account, he compared the air quality of Delhi with the clean air of Goa.

Delhi: The 2-match Test series between India and South Africa is starting from 24th November. The first match of the series will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Before this season, former South African cricketer and current coach Jonty Rhodes has expressed concern about the air of Delhi.

On his X account, he compared the air quality of Delhi with the clean air of Goa.

Jonty Rhodes expressed concern over Delhi’s air

Rhodes wrote, “Today when I passed through Delhi for Ranchi, it was difficult to bear the air here. I consider myself lucky that I live in a small fishing village in South Goa.”

He further wrote, “The view of the sunset from my house is very beautiful. The children playing football in this photo are mine.

In Delhi, perhaps these children would be advised to stay indoors.”

Air condition in Delhi is very bad

Delhi’s air is becoming more polluted every day. On the morning of Monday, November 10, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded beyond 400 in many areas. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI in Delhi’s Bawana area reached 412, which falls in the hazardous level category. Jonty Rhodes reacted to this situation and expressed his concern.

Rhodes’ cricket career

Jonty Rhodes played 245 matches in his 11-year ODI career and scored 5,935 runs at an average of 35.11.

He scored 2,532 runs in 80 innings of 52 matches in Test cricket. Rhodes’ highest score in Test was 117 runs and 121 runs in ODI.
