Apart from Jadeja, Rajasthan were eyeing Shivam Dube as well, but Chennai showed no interest.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are in negotiations around high-profile trade deals ahead of IPL 2026. The five-time champions want Sanju Samson and have offered to give Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to the Rajasthan Royals. According to the Indian Express, Rajasthan is not interested in Curran, and this could complicate Samson’s move to the Men in Yellow.

Samson has clearly told RR that he is not ready to play for the franchise, and the owners are ready to part ways with the wicket-keeper in exchange for two players.

Rajasthan has its eyes on the Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, who has been magnificent for Chennai. However, the Super Kings are not willing to let go of him, considering his skill set.

The report added that MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and head coach Stephen Fleming spoke to Jadeja about his potential return to the Rajasthan Royals.

“Dhoni had a discussion with Jadeja to know his view, and once the all-rounder agreed to leave CSK for RR, the conversation between the two franchises started again.”
