Lucknow: Former Indian opener Navjot Singh Sidhu has named the player who bowls like former great spinner Anil Kumble. Let us tell you that Kumble has been India's greatest spinner and he has also taken the most wickets while playing for Team India. In such a situation, Sidhu has taken the name of a player who is out of the Indian team. In fact, Kumble has taken more than 600 wickets in Test cricket for India, while veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also taken 500 wickets in his name.
Former Indian player Harbhajan Singh's record while playing for Team India has also been excellent but the biggest surprise is that he has not taken the name of either of these two players. In fact, the former batsman has compared star spinner Varun Chakraborty, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, with Kumble. Sidhu has given a big statement during a conversation on Star Sports.

He said, “Anil Kumble used to bowl like this on rough surfaces and the ball used to spin. When I see Varun Chakraborty, I think Kumble is bowling. Varun's height is also similar to Kumble and when he bowls with that height, the ball spins more. When such a bowler gets a rough surface and bowls from a height, he proves to be very dangerous. Chakraborty's future is bright.”
This comment of Sidhu has come at a time when he bowled excellently in the match played against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Eden Garden on Monday, 29 April. The 32-year-old was seen struggling with the ball so far in IPL 2024 but he bowled brilliantly against Delhi and took 3 wickets. In this match, Varun spent only 16 runs in 4 overs of bowling and showed the way to the pavilion to 3 batsmen. Seeing his performance, Sidhu compared Chakraborty with Kumble.
