Australia tour was very wonderful for India. After losing 1-2 in the ODI series, they managed to win the T20 series 2-1. The Indian team showed a strong game under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. Even though 2 matches of the 5-match series were washed out due to rain, Team India completely dominated Australia in the remaining matches. After being 0-1 behind in the series, a memorable comeback was seen, in which star all-rounder Washington Sundar had an important contribution, for which he was also given a special award.
Washington Sundar got a chance to play a total of 3 matches in this series, in which his performance was quite good. He was not used as a bowler in the third T20 match in Hobart, but as a batsman, Sundar played a match-winning inning of 49 runs with the help of four sixes and three fours in 23 balls and helped India win by five wickets. Due to which the series became equal to 1-1. Then, in the fourth match, he was kept from bowling till the last overs, but he ensured India's victory by taking three wickets in two overs.
For this strong performance, Washington Sundar was chosen as 'Impact Player of the Series'. Along with ball and bat, he also left a good impression in fielding. This award was given to Washington Sundar in the team's dressing room after the end of the series. After winning this special award, Washington Sundar said, 'It is amazing to come here and get the opportunity to play in Australia, and I am definitely happy to contribute to the team's victory.'
