The 47th match of IPL 2024 was played today (April 29) between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals. At Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 153 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, KKR won the match by scoring 157 runs in 16.3 overs. Philip Salt was explosive for KKR. Salt scored 68 off 33 balls. He hit 7 fours and 5 sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored 33 not out. Venkatesh Iyer scored 26 not out.

Akshar Patel did well in bowling from Delhi. He took 2 wickets. Lizard Williams took 1 wicket.

This was Kolkata Knight Riders' sixth win in 9 matches in the current IPL season. That means, Kolkata has scored a six of victory. This was Delhi's sixth defeat in 11 matches.

Delhi innings

All the Delhi batsmen flopped today after winning the toss and batting first. The team had lost 3 wickets in the Powerplay. Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for 13 runs, McGurk for 12 runs and Shai Hope for 6 runs.

After this, in the very next over, Delhi also lost the fourth wicket. Harshit Rana dismissed Abhishek Porel for 68 runs. Porre managed to score only 18 runs in 15 balls. Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel then put on a 25-run partnership which was broken by Varun Chakraborty. He dismissed captain Rishabh Pant. He returned with 27 off 20 balls.

After this, Tristan Stubbs, who came to bat at number seven, could not stay on the wicket for long. He was dismissed after scoring just 4 runs. Akshar Patel scored 35 runs, Kumar Kushagra scored 1 run, Rasik Salam scored 8 runs, Kuldeep Yadav scored 35 runs in this match.

Varun Chakraborty did a brilliant job for KKR in bowling. He took 3 wickets. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana took 2 wickets each. Sunil Narine and Starc took 1 wicket each.
