Delhi: Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy has been in the news continuously in the T20 International series of the Indian cricket team. Under his leadership, Team India has experimented with different combinations. Leaving aside the opening pair, the order of the rest of the batsmen has not been decided yet.

Changes seen in batting order

In the second T20 match, where Sanju Samson got a chance to play at number three, in the fourth T20, Shivam Dubey came to bat at the same position. Regarding this change, former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif said that at present nothing seems to be fixed under the captaincy of Suryakumar.

Clarification given on strategy

Kaif said on a YouTube channel that Suryakumar’s strategy is flexible. He told, “Wickets did not fall in the first six overs and the team had scored 49 runs. When Abhishek Sharma was out to the spinners in the seventh over, Suryakumar saw that there were overs left for the spinners. In such a situation, Shivam Dubey was sent at number three to attack the spinners. He was given freedom to play freely.”

Praised as captain

Praising Yadav’s captaincy, Kaif said, “Suryakumar Yadav has passed his test as a captain. He knew that if he lost this match, the series would be lost. He reprimanded Shivam Dubey many times on the field while bowling, because he wanted to make full use of him. He did the same, so now he has become a better captain.”

India saved the series

The Indian cricket team performed brilliantly in the fourth T20 match against Australia and achieved a resounding victory by 48 runs. With this victory, Team India has averted the danger of defeat in the five-match T20 series. Now the team’s aim will be to win the series by winning the last and decisive match to be held at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane on 8 November.
