The trade market is once again hot before IPL 2026 and Chennai Super Kings have resumed talks with Rajasthan Royals regarding Sanju Samson. According to reports Delhi Capitals CSK’s expectations have increased again as soon as K withdrew from the race. At the same time, Rajasthan wants a top star player in return in any trade, due to which the talks are still stuck.
The hustle and bustle in the trade market has intensified before the IPL 2026 mini auction and meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have once again started talks with Rajasthan Royals for Sanju Samson. If media reports are to be believed, there had been talks between CSK and RR regarding this earlier also, but no result was achieved. After this, Rajasthan talked about a swap trade with Delhi Capitals for South African batsman Tristan Stubbs, but currently Delhi is out of this race.
According to the latest report of Cricbuzz, as soon as Delhi retreated, CSK is back in the Samson race. Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants have also shown interest in Sanju Samson. KKR has long been looking for an Indian top-order batsman who can also keep wickets, so both Sanju and KL Rahul fit the bill for them.
Lucknow’s interest is a bit surprising as the team already has a strong batting lineup and they had bought captain Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether LSG is considering releasing Pant after just one year.
Let us tell you, this report of Cricbuzz further says that CSK is going to hold an important internal meeting on 10-11 November before deciding its retention strategy. The franchise is trying to take the final decision regarding Sanju Samson before this meeting.
Meanwhile, reports are also going on that Rajasthan Royals have also made it clear that they are ready to trade Sanju, but in return they want a top star player. This is the point where his negotiations with all the teams get stuck. According to reports, Rajasthan has already shown interest in players like Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dubey. Now it remains to be seen to what extent CSK is ready for trade.
