Now only a few months are left for IPL 2026 to start. The date of IPL 2026 Mini Auction has been finalized. The date of mini auction for IPL 2026 has been kept on 15th December. Before this, all the teams will have to submit the retained and release list of their team to BCCI by 15th November.
Today we are going to tell you about 5 such players, whom IPL teams would definitely like to release. These players had performed very poorly in IPL 2025.
Venkatesh Iyer was released by KKR before the IPL 2025 mega auction, but after this, the franchise bought him in the auction for a huge amount of Rs 23.5 crore and he proved to be the most expensive player of the IPL. Venkatesh Iyer had badly disappointed KKR in IPL 2025.
In IPL 2025, Venkatesh Iyer scored only 125 runs in 11 matches, so by releasing this player, the franchise would like to increase its purse before the IPL 2026 mini auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad team had retained Heinrich Klaasen for Rs 23 crore before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Heinrich Klaasen scored 487 runs in 13 matches in IPL 2025.
His strike rate was also 172.70. However, now before IPL 2026, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team wants to release them and keep some such players in the team at this price, whom the franchise needs.
Glenn Maxwell was included in their team by Punjab Kings for a price of Rs 4.20 crore, but this player performed very poorly and scored only 48 runs in 7 matches and could take only 4 wickets with the ball. In such a situation, the franchise can release him before IPL 2026.
Sam Curran can also be released by Chennai Super Kings team before IPL 2026. This Chennai Super Kings player was bought by CSK for Rs 2.4 crore and during this, Sam Curran scored only 114 runs in 5 matches and took only 1 wicket.
In the mega auction of IPL 2025, RCB included Rasikh Salam Dar in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs. 6 crores, but this player got a chance to play only in 2 matches and in both the matches, this player gave away 35-35 runs and could take only 1 wicket. For this reason, RCB team can release Rasikh before IPL 2026.
