UP Warriorz WPL 2026 retention list: Full list of retained players (Source: WPL)

UP Warriorz have announced their list of retained players on November 6 for the 2026 installment of the Women's Premier League. The season will feature a mega auction (on November 27 in Delhi) for the first time in the league's history. This has allowed each franchise to retain a maximum of five players.

As per the guidelines set up by the WPL, franchises are allowed to retain a maximum of three capped Indian players, two overseas players and as many uncapped Indian players. A minimum of one Indian player must be uncapped if a team decides to retain their full quota of five players. The Right to Match option has been introduced. This allows teams to buy back one of their ex-players under the condition of another team bidding for them.

For the upcoming auction, each team has been allotted a total purse of INR 15 crore. The WPL has also announced prices for player retentions across various slabs: INR 3.5 crore (Player 1), INR 2.5 crore (Player 2), INR 1.75 crore (Player 3), INR 1 crore (Player 4) and INR 50 lakh (Player 5).

UP have retained only one player, leaving a total remaining purse to be used in the auction as INR 14.5 crore. Only uncapped Shweta Sehrawat has been retained by the franchise, leaving them with four RTM players. The middle-order batter has been part of the franchise since the past three seasons, having registered 261 runs in 20 innings at a strike rate of 103.98. 

UP have never managed to reach the playoffs in their WPL history. They will be aiming on reinforcing their lineup and bring in players capable of taking them to the playoffs or maybe to a title win via the upcoming mega auction at the end of the month.
