MI Retained Players List: The Mumbai Indians have been one of the most successful franchises in WPL history, with two titles. They won the titles in the inaugural and previous editions of the tournament (2023, 2025).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed rules and guidelines for the WPL 2026 auction, the purse value for the franchises and the road map for the deadline for player retention submissions, franchises to provide player lists for the auction pool, the last date for player registrations, and the official auction player list to be released by the BCCI.
With the revealed timeline, the retained players list of all five teams will have to be submitted to the Indian board by 5:00 PM IST on November 05.
As per the WPL 2026 schedule, the tournament is likely to be played in the January-February window due to the commencement of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 played in the February-March Window, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The Mumbai Indians have won the WPL 2025 title, defeating the Delhi Capitals by eight runs in the final. Despite finishing second in the league stage, they had an impressive campaign and secured a title for the second time.
Retaining the maximum number of players will cost the franchise INR 9.25 crore out of the INR 15 crore purse value. A maximum of 3 capped Indian players, 2 overseas and 2 uncapped players can be retained.
