Jaipur, 5 November (Read). It has been 172 years since railway operations started in India. Over the years, railways have gradually developed throughout India. More than a hundred years have passed since many railway routes and stations were built. These station buildings have now become our heritage. With the aim of preserving these heritages, the Railway Ministry has decided to celebrate the centenary celebrations of railway stations. In this sequence, Station Mahotsav will be celebrated at Bikaner station of North Western Railway.
According to Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Station Mahotsav will be celebrated at Bikaner station from 07 to 13 November. On this occasion, an exhibition depicting the historical journey of development of Bikaner station will be organized. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, will come to Bikaner station as the chief guest to visit the exhibition on the first day on 7th November. Jethanand Vyas, MP/Bikaner (West) will attend as a special guest. Along with this, Amitabh, General Manager, North Western Railway, many senior officials of Railways and public representatives will also participate.
Along with the exhibition, many programs like painting, essay etc. competitions for children, sports competitions and cultural programs, Prabhat Pheri, cleanliness campaign, special theme based illumination on the station building, band performance by scouts and guides etc. will be organized in the Station Mahotsav.
