India's title-winning captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was not included in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's World Cup Team of the Tournament, announced on Tuesday, 4 November. South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt was named captain of the side, which features as many as three Indian players.

Smriti Mandhana, who scored the most runs for India during their victorious campaign, has been named in the ICC Women's World Cup Team of the Tournament alongside Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma.
Smriti Mandhana and Laura Wolvaardt will open the batting in the Team of the Tournament, with Jemimah Rodrigues slotted at No.

3. Wolvaardt topped the batting charts with 571 runs at an outstanding average of 71.37, registering back-to-back centuries in the semi-final and the final. Smriti, meanwhile, finished the World Cup with 434 runs at an average of 54.25.

Deepti Sharma was an automatic selection, with the Indian all-rounder excelling across departments – scoring 215 runs and claiming 22 wickets, the most by any bowler in the tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who captained India to their title triumph, missed out on selection despite scoring 260 runs with the bat.
She was also instrumental as captain, maintaining her composure under pressure and making decisive calls at crucial moments.
The team was selected by a panel comprising commentators Ian Bishop, Mel Jones and Isa Guha, Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager - Events and Corporate Communications), and Estelle Vasudevan (Journalist Representative).

The Team of the Tournament has been dominated by players from India, South Africa, and Australia, with three representatives from each side. In addition to captain Laura Wolvaardt, South African all-rounders Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk have also been included in the XI.

From Australia, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King have earned places in the team, while Sidra Nawaz has been chosen as the wicketkeeper ahead of India's Richa Ghosh.
Sidra impressed behind the stumps, registering three catches and four stumpings.
