Electricity department will make all circles defective meter free

Jaipur, 3 November (Read News). All the three electricity distribution corporations of the state will make all their circles free from defective meters. Corporations have started work in this direction. Chairman Discoms Aarti Dogra said that instructions have been given to speed up the work of replacing faulty meters in all three electricity distribution corporations of the state. Defective meters of consumers should be replaced as soon as possible. Superintending Engineers should move forward with the aim of making their circles free of defective meters.

Dogra was reviewing issues to connections, revenue generation etc. in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Electricity Distribution Corporations through video conference at Vidyut Bhawan on Monday. Dr. Bhanwarlal, Managing Director of Jodhpur Discom and KP Verma, Managing Director of Ajmer Electricity Distribution Corporation were also present in the meeting. During this, Dogra also took information from the Circle Superintending Engineers about the progress of 33 KV grid sub-stations announced in the budget. Discom Chairman said that distribution corporations have to bear the loss of revenue due to faulty electricity meters. The consumer has to give rebate in electricity charges as per rules along with issuing the bill on the basis of average consumption. He directed to increase the pace of replacement of defective meters of single phase and three phase (non-agriculture) consumers in circles with high number of defective meters. Dogra directed that work should be started immediately in the 33 KV grid sub-stations for which work orders have been given under the budget announcement. He gave instructions to declare an ideal village in all the districts as soon as possible through the committees formed under the chairmanship of the District Collector in the selection of ideal solar village under PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. It is noteworthy that model solar villages have been selected in Churu, Bundi, Tonk Jhalawar, Ajmer Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Jhunjhunu and Pali. Discom Chairman directed to achieve the target of installing smart meters in all government buildings by the end of November. It is noteworthy that 1,71,594 government buildings in the state have electricity connections, out of which smart meters have been installed in 73,871 buildings. On this occasion, pending cases of net metering, EV and industrial category connections were also reviewed. Discoms Chairman gave instructions to release the pending connections at the level of Discoms as soon as possible.
