India etched their name in cricketing history by clinching their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 title with a 52-run victory over South Africa in a thrilling final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

BCCI rewards Team India with record amount

Following the triumphant campaign, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a massive cash reward of ₹51 crore for the World Cup-winning squad. The reward, separate from the ICC prize money, will be distributed among players, coaches, selectors and the support staff led by head coach Amol Muzumdar. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia lauded the team’s remarkable achievement, calling it a defining moment for Indian cricket. He also acknowledged the efforts of ICC Chairman Jay Shah in elevating women’s cricket globally, noting the increased ICC prize pool for the Women’s World Cup.

“BCCI is elated and without touching anything from the ICC kitty, BCCI on its own is going to pay, as a reward, of INR 51 crores to the Indian team. That amount will go to the players, selectors, as well as the support staff headed by Amol Muzumdar,” Saikia said during the announcement.
