South Africa will need to break the record of the highest successful chase in a final to overcome India in the Women’s World Cup 2025 final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
Half-centuries from Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma helped India post 298 for seven at the end of its 50 overs. This is the second-highest total posted in the final of a Women’s ODI World Cup.
The previous highest total chased down in the final of the World Cup was 167 by England against New Zealand in 2009.
